As the leadership of the West Jamaica Conference advances preparations for its evangelistic programme for the rest of 2020, the administrators and directors on Sunday, July 12, 2020, begun a series of consultations with church officers. The starting parish was Hanover, with meetings conducted at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lucea, March Town and Hopewell
President, Pastor Glen O. Samuels, who led the team at the Hopewell Church reiterated the place of Evangelism amidst the COVID-19 restrictions.
“The one reason God gave this church its existence, the one reason we are called the remnant church is to prepare a people for the coming of the Lord.” The President, in Biblical fashion, questioned “How shall they hear without a preacher?’ We are all preachers,” he ended his challenge to the local leaders from the two districts represented at the location.
The Conference has set as its target three main evangelistic outreach initiatives for the remainder of 2020, namely: Let’s Talk About Him (LTAH) which is a Union-Wide Evangelistic Series (the date for which has been rescheduled to October 3-17, 2020), Church Officer’s Reaping September 19 and 26 and the Lay Workers’ Reaping Programme (extension of the Week of Prayer) slated for November.
During the session, the various Directors made presentations on departmental plans for soul-winning efforts.
The series continues on Sabbath, July 18, at the West Jamaica Conference Headquarters. As a result of the rescheduled date for the LTAH series, the date for Westmoreland will be changed for a date to be announced. The consultation for St. Elizabeth, remains as Sunday, July 26, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Santa Cruz.
