In keeping with its tradition of care and service, the St. James Community Services Federation and the Women’s Ministries Department of West Jamaica Conference hosted their annual Feeding Programme at the end of 2024, during which approximately 1,000 hot meals were distributed. The team was also joined by students from Harrison Memorial Preparatory School. This impactful initiative reached patients and staff at the Cornwall Regional Outpatient Clinics on the Conference grounds, police officers at the Mt. Salem Police Station, the St. James Infirmary, and individuals supported by the Open-Heart Charitable Mission in Montego Bay.

The Conference has faithfully organized this feeding programme annually since 2016 and 2024 was no exception. The success of this year’s programme was made possible through the support of key sponsor, Baking Enterprises Ltd. (producers of Yummy and Holsum baked goods), whose contributions provided essential resources to make the event a success.

The feeding programme demonstrates the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s commitment to being a tangible expression of Christ’s love by ministering to people’s needs. Reflecting on the success of the initiative, Women’s Ministries Director, Mrs. Carol Smythe-James, shared: “It was a joy to have our annual feeding programme. We are delighted to give back to our community and show that we care. For 2025, we will be coming even bigger and better.”
