For the fourth time, members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Defence Force along with youth and Youth Leaders of the West Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, were treated to a special prayer breakfast on Sunday, February 11, 2024. The event, held at the Seventh-day Adventist Conference Centre in Mount Salem, Montego Bay, served as a means of recognizing the unwavering dedication and sacrifices made by these brave men and women in safeguarding our communities. The theme for the day was “Building a Better Nation- Changing Lives, One Life at a Time”.

As attendees enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast spread, they were treated to uplifting speeches and testimonials, highlighting the valor and commitment exemplified by the security forces on a daily basis.

“As a churchman, I join you in upholding and defending the law of the land,” said Pastor Glen O. Samuels, President of West Jamaica Conference.

He added, “Mine is the undying conviction that no matter how dark the night, the sun will still shine because there are persons like you wearing the uniform you wear who will not flinch in the day of adversity, who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. We call you here today to affirm you. We are honored to have you in our space and you can count on our prayers.”

The expression of appreciation by Samuels was coupled with his challenge to the officers to maintain their integrity.

“In order to rebuild wholesome values, you need the wisdom of Almighty God. Your integrity must have no price tag. Because more than the money that you earn, must be that which is inside that can’t be bought or sold. That even if your pocket is empty, you refuse to bow and sell your integrity on the altar of expediency.

Mr. Cecil Foster, Managing Director of FosRich Company Limited and main sponsor of the event, seized the opportunity to express gratitude towards the security personnel and reaffirm his commitment to supporting the initiative going forward.

“This program resonates deeply with the ethos of FosRich. We have been. When this program came to light,” he said, “we saw that there was a synergy”, he added.

“One of the back bones of Jamaica’s existence is its armed forces and if you mean a lot to Jamaica then you mean a lot to FosRich. We are calling on companies like ours to stand up and say that they support the efforts of the armed forces.” He then went on to announce a special 40% discount package for police officers and soldiers who visit FosRich stores across the country.
