Over 120 women were challenged to “pray big” at the Women’s Prayer Breakfast that was recently hosted at the Seventh-Day Adventist Conference Centre in Mt. Salem, St. James. Organized by the Women’s Ministries Department of West Jamaica Conference, the event is the second of its kind and was centered around the theme "Women Building on the Legacy, Preparing for Eternity."
The morning's keynote speaker, Pastor Michelle Hill, Women’s Ministries Director of the Bermuda Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, delivered a powerful message that resonated with the attendees.
“Never underestimate the power of prayer,” she said. “ We have access to heaven when we pray. It is the answer to every problem in life. When we pray demons tremble; prodigals come home; marriages are restored, and the atmosphere has to shift.”
She continued by challenging the women to pray big and spend more time in prayer.
“We must spend time praying big,” Hill urged. “We ought to pray big to a big God who holds the world in His hands. We cut ourselves short so many times and we have not because we ask not. We are so frustrated about the cares of life that we miss our most divine appointment that is to spend time on our knees with Jesus as he wants to do big things for us,” she ended.
The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie as participants indulged in a delectable breakfast and engaged in an intercessory prayer session. Specially invited congregations from Seventh-Day Adventist Churches including Harrison, Montego Bay, King’s, Mt. Salem, Tucker, and Norwood, along with members from neighboring communities, contributed to the vibrant live audience. To extend the impact beyond the physical audience, the event was broadcast live on YouTube, Facebook, and WCCN.
The occasion served as a beacon of unity, empowerment, and spiritual growth for all who participated. The Women’s Ministries Department of West Jamaica Conference continues to foster community engagement and spiritual upliftment through such impactful initiatives, reinforcing their commitment to enriching lives and building a stronger, more connected community.
